Construction Project Estimator

  • Quest Builders Group is searching for Experienced Construction Project Estimators to join our growing firm. Our projects include work in the NYC Metropolitan Area as well as a large national accounts portfolio with action from coast to coast. Market sectors include Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Retail , Hospitality and Restaurant fields.

    • Estimator’s role will include both lump sum and CM bidding. Pre-construction services and conceptual budgeting.

    • Analyze proposals, specifications, blueprints and other construction documents to fully understand project objectives and scope of work.

    • Participate in job walks to get questions answered and collect project details.

    • Document constructibility concerns and questions, drawing discrepancies, chasing answers, and finding corrections.

    • Follow up with clients and design teams on questions, project status, response format, and submitted proposals.

    • Request, receive, compare, and level multiple bids for each project trade.

    • Communicate with operations team management to fully describe and hand off completed estimating packages. Answer any and all questions about project subcontractors, pricing, and scope. You are the front line expert!

    • Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry and 2 years experience in project estimating or a construction management role.

    • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite software.

    • Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken.

Construction Project Superintendent

  • Quest Builders Group is searching for Experienced Construction Superintendents to join our growing team. Quest Superintendents will manage job sites in NYC and surrounding cities/states. Competitive salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications.

    • Maintain professional and productive relationships with all project contributors and stakeholders.

    • Cooperate with on-site property management, building engineers, clients, and Quest’s support team.

    • Study plans/drawings and complete scope analysis/open items log prior to starting project.

    • Prepare job sites and arrange for required general contractor signage, PPE, OSHA compliance, and safety programs.

    • Conduct pre-construction meetings with all subs/vendors.

    • Create, manage, document, and push to completion the schedule and punch-list.

    • Be on-site at all times when work is conducted on the job site.

    • Oversee schedule, coordination and progress of all disciplines/trades on the project.

    • Identify gaps in scope with subs and work with the Project Manager to resolve them.

    • Coordinate required inspections with various local jurisdictions.

    • Complete daily photo and site activity log.

    • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

    • Work directly with the Project Manager on cost management and cost control including a thorough understanding of project budgets.

    • Directly manage site labor, and laborer’s time card, container ticket log, tools and job site supplies.

    • Conduct weekly schedule reviews with the general superintendent and project manager.

    • Review, coordinate, and manage submittal logs, and change orders. Shop drawings, punch-lists and close-out packages.

    • 5 years construction/site management experience with references.

    • Customer service experience.

    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Procore, OSHA regulations, and First Aid.

    • Familiar with both fully engineered and design build construction processes.

    • Ability to communicate with the project team on field issues, and provide verifications and advice for design solutions.

    • Thorough knowledge of construction best practices, trades, scheduling, and problem resolution.
